Overview of the Hard Hat Crew

Beginning on March 30th, the church will move worship services to the CLC, Fellowship Center, and Chapel. With this transition, there is a need to prepare these venues for worship.

The church has hired an outside firm, Church Solutions Group, to oversee the preparation of these venues for worship.

While there is budgeted money available to contract out all the necessary work, and while some of the work will be outsourced, there is a desire on the church’s part to give members the opportunity to serve with their time and talents.

The Music ministry is coordinating this effort. To learn more, go here, or call 713-957-5889.

Areas for Service

The building of the stage in the CLC
(February 12th through the end of February)
  • Tasks include unloading lumber and supplies into the CLC, unpacking supplies, measuring cuts, sawing, hammering, painting stage, and waste disposal

Set up Audio, Video, and Theatrical Lighting in CLC, Fellowship Center, and Chapel
(February 12th through late March)
  • The CLC, Chapel and Fellowship Center will have audio, video, and lighting improvements.
  • The first step is to remove existing components and wiring from the Chapel and Fellowship Center. Some components will be disposed of, some components will be slotted for use elsewhere in the church, and some components will be moved to storage for eventual resale or donation.
  • After the removal of the old components, the new components will be installed in all three venues.
  • We are looking for volunteer skill sets ranging from electricians to people who can unpack boxes
Volunteers the week after Easter to help transition into the CLC
(March 24th through March 29th)
  • Following Easter Sunday, we will pull all of the Media equipment out of the Worship Center
  • Some equipment will be moved to the CLC
  • Some of the equipment will be moved to offsite storage for resale or donation to other churches
  • Some of the equipment will be moved to onsite storage for cleaning, maintenance, and eventual placement in the new worship center
Volunteers for Sunday Production needs during worship outside the Worship Center
(March 30th through approximately late August)
  • With three worship venues this will significantly increase the production requirements
  • Includes stage help, and production aspects such as running sound and video from multiple venues
Volunteers for setting up and taking down temporary chairs
(March 30th through approximately late August)
  • On Saturday afternoons, the church will need to set out approximately 1,850 chairs in the CLC and approximately 700 chairs in the Fellowship Center. On Sunday evenings, these chairs will have to be stacked and stored away.
Volunteers to transition back into the Worship Center
(Late August)

  • Move equipment from CLC to Worship Center
  • Disposal of stage
  • Move items into storage that are not being used in the Worship Center
